C.H.I.P - The World's First $9 Computer
You may be confused as I was when I saw this project on Kickstarter. It's a project by Next Thing Co. This a miniaturized computer running on a 1GHZ processor speed, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of Storage, way better than my very first PC.
C.H.I.P. has built in WiFi + Bluetooth which connects you to the internet and allows attach a keyboard, mouse and even a game controller.
C.H.I.P. does computer things. Work in LibreOffice and save your documents to C.H.I.P.’s onboard storage. Surf the web and check your email over wifi. Play games with a bluetooth controller. With dozens of applications and tools preinstalled, C.H.I.P. is ready to do computer things the moment you power it on.
The techies behind this project have really done serious homework on developing this device. They have managed to make it so tiny that a banana even seems to be a giant besides this device.
This is a device I will like to have a feel of and can't wait to see what these guys can do next. Tell us what your thoughts about C.H.I.P is.

The Light Phone
The invention of smart phones are making our lives easy but equally they are also taking too much of our precious time for a lot of unnecessary things. If you've ever wondered if we could go back to the old days where mobile phones were just for calls, then the answer is yes.
In our current world where phones are getting smarter and smarter. A new Kickstarter hopes to bring back the simplicity of the old days. They call it "The Light Phone".
The light phone gives you the simplicity of calls only without any apps which keeps you unfocused.
Why would anyone want to buy such a device?
Well, Its creators say the idea is that this credit card-sized phone is attractive and it seamlessly forwards calls from your smartphone over to it. Creating that moment when you want to get away from distractions and “focus on the moment” but still create an opportunity for family and friends to reach you in case of an emergency.
How does it Work?
The Light Phone is a pre-paid GSM phone that works independently of your carrier. It comes with a SIM card and an app to use with your current smartphone. The app allows you to forward calls from your current device to it thereby creating an extension of your other phone. The attractive basic phone that has 20 day battery life and can be used in situations when you want to “get away from it all”, while not completely going off the grid. At $100, the Light Phone is arguably rather expensive for what you get for a simplistic device.
This Kickstarter need $200,000 to make this project a success. Tell us what you think of "The Light Phone". Would you pick one up when its launched? Tell us what you think. For more information head to the official Kickstarter page.
